Invest in both traditional and alternative assets with a single custodian – ready to go beyond a self-directed IRA?
CHICAGO, IL, February 12, 2025
Equity Trust Company and tastyfx are excited to announce they have teamed up to allow forex traders to utilize self-directed IRAs through Equity Trust to trade on the tastyfx platform. This collaboration enables retail traders to diversify into global currency markets, an investment strategy often challenging or inaccessible for traders.
The collaboration features a custom integration that embeds the Equity Trust IRA application within the tastyfx onboarding process, offering a first-of-its-kind forex onboarding experience in the futures/forex industry. This enables investors to open and fund a self-directed IRA with Equity Trust when creating a tastyfx account, giving tastyfx customers the ability to trade forex using a self-directed IRA.
“We’re delighted to offer our customers the option to use a retirement account to trade forex,” said Pete Mulmat, CEO of tastyfx. “This collaboration breaks down barriers between types of accounts, enabling individuals to diversify their investment portfolios.”
With rapidly changing interest rates in the US and worldwide, currency markets are experiencing increased volatility due to shifting demand. tastyfx offers retail traders access to one of the most liquid assets in the world — available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week — allowing them to hedge US dollar exposure or speculate on over 80 currency pairs. By teaming up with Equity Trust, a leading custodian of alternative investments in retirement accounts, investors can access a portion of their investable wealth through an IRA to engage in these foreign exchange markets.
“Our mission at Equity Trust is to open up new investment opportunities for individuals with retirement accounts,” said Brad Janitz, Senior Director of Sales at Equity Trust Company. “We are excited to work alongside tastyfx to make it easy for individuals to invest in foreign exchange opportunities through their retirement accounts.”
As of January 2025, Equity Trust Company had more than $58B of assets under custody and administration. For 50 years, it has empowered individual investors and financial professionals by removing barriers to true investment freedom.
